Previously Asked Questions:
What time does the school day begin and end at Cabrini?
The school day begins when the first bell goes off at 7:50 a.m. Then you have 10 minutes to get to your first class before the second bell rings at 8 a.m. The day ends at 3:10 p.m after end of the day announcements and prayer.
How long are the class periods?
Classes are eighty minutes and there are four class periods per day. During second time block, the whole student body is dedicated to a twenty-minute period of sustained, silent reading before the start of 2nd period.
Is there a free period or study hall?
Prime Time is scheduled to give us time to study, do homework, make-up missed work, and go to the library or any of the labs.
Does Cabrini have a "brother" school?
Cabrini does not have a brother school, but we do have a joint annual event with Holy Cross—the Tiger-Crescent Throw Down, a competition between our schools that benefits a worthy cause. For our dances, we get to vote on which boy's school to invite. Majority rules with the top three or four boys schools invited to the dance.
Does Cabrini offer bus service?
Limited interest in bus transportation among the school community does not make it feasible for Cabrini to offer bus service. Cabrini does offer parents the opportunity complete a carpool interest form. From the forms submitted, Cabrini compiles a carpool list and makes it available to parents upon request.
What scholarships does Cabrini offer?
A variety of academic and need-based scholarship opportunities exist at Cabrini. You can view the list of scholarships and eligibility requirements on our website. Under the Admissions tab, choose Financial Information from the drop-down menu and select Scholarships.
Is there a placement test given at Cabrini?
Yes, Cabrini administers a placement test to applicants for 8th and 9th grade at the annual Application Day in January. Testing results are used for placement purposes only and do not determine acceptance. Acceptance is based upon the applicant's grades and standardized test from 5th grade to the present and their admissions interview.
Are there exclusive cliques at Cabrini?
There are close groups of friends here at Cabrini, but everyone is friendly and accepting. The people you eat lunch with one day are not the only people you associate with. You make many friends through four or five years here. Changing lunch groups is not the end of the world.
What are the grades you need to get accepted?
Consistent year-end grades of at least a "C" or better and standardized test scores in the average to above-average range may meet Cabrini's admissions standards. Grades, however, are but one of several factors influencing admissions decisions. Other considerations include but are not limited to the applicant's attendance and discipline record and her presentation during the admissions interview.
