Cabrini's Science Club took a trip to the LSU Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) in Downtown New Orleans. Dr. Jeffrey Hobden, LSUHSC scientist, took the group on a tour of the facilities which began on the rooftop, giving the group a great overview of what's coming as far as land development around the Science Center. Hobden also led the group through many different areas of the facility and ended the evening by spending time talking with the students about their academic ambitions and career plans. Dr. Hobden was full of information and anecdotal stories from his many years as a scientist and LSU professor.
Cabrini's group of young scientists includes seniors Kayla Hampton and Asia Cleggett, freshman Rebecca Hampton, and pre-freshmen Kayla Prout and Myreonte Patterson-Cooper. Physical Science teacher and Science Club moderator, Lisa Surgi sponsored the trip and was joined by her husband, Brian Surgi, Sr.
