Every year the Cabrini High Alumnae Board selects an alumna to be honored at the annual Alumnae Luncheon as the Alumna of the Year. The Alumna of the Year Committee receives nominations and carefully considers each nominee. The woman selected for this honor should demonstrate a strong Christian, Catholic faith, charity, generosity, and compassion. She should personify Cabrini’s core values of respect, excellence, and service through her actions and interactions. She should demonstrate her dedication to Cabrini High and its mission by sharing her time, energy, and/or treasure.
This year, one woman stood out from the pool of amazing nominees. Therefore, we are excited to announce that Natalie Caserta Albers, ’96, has been selected as the 2024 Cabrini Alumnae Association's Alumna of the Year.
Natalie is an accomplished alumna of Cabrini High School. Besides being a devoted wife to Thomas for the past 25+ years, and wonderful mother of to her four daughters, Natalie is an outstanding educator. As a student at Cabrini, she chose her future career because she wanted to follow the values she learned at Cabrini and help those in need. She tries to uphold the value of love, faith, and perseverance in all facets of her life.
Natalie holds a B.S. in education, a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, and is a Master Teacher. She has worked in the St. Bernard Parish Public school system since 2001 as a teacher, Master teacher facilitating professional development for teachers, assistant principal at Lacoste Elementary, and current principal at Arlene Meraux Elementary. Her goal is to teach problem-solving skills to all so that they can succeed. Four of her co-workers are also Cabrini graduates.
When Hurricane Katrina hit, the devastation in St. Bernard Parish was monumental and the schools were closed for a long time. Natalie was instrumental in re-opening the schools. Every day her commitment to her students and their families is evident in their response to her presence and interactions with them.
Natalie is devoted to Mother Cabrini and to her teachings. She loves Cabrini and can be seen and heard volunteering at and attending various activities and events. Her three oldest daughters are Crescents, and her youngest is hopeful to begin her Crescent journey in the fall.
Natalie continues to embraced Mother Cabrini’s mission and philosophy, and is an amazing role model through her dedication, involvement, and selflessness. She serves her family, her community, and her alma mater, and focuses on the community of children with whom she is in contact, hoping to encourage parents and teachers to support them in every way. She has truly demonstrated throughout her life the Cabrini core values of respect, excellence, and service.
Please join us in saying congratulations to Natalie Caserta Albers, ’96. She will be recognized at the annual Alumnae Luncheon at The Cannery on April 6, 2024.
