Juniors Kathryn Mipro, Marisa Scarlata, and Kennedi White were honored as finalists in the Patrick F. Taylor Foundation’s 18 in 18 contest to commemorate the Tricentennial of New Orleans. Kathryn’s essay “From Boxhorn to Mipro,” Marisa’s painting “Currents of My Heritage,” and Kennedi’s video “On the Town” were presented to a panel of judges on Saturday, June 2. Our students will also be featured in the 18 in 18 documentary to be debuted at the opening of the Taylor Foundation Education Center in October. At this function, the winner of the 18 in 18 contest will be announced.
Cabrini High School was the only school represented with a finalist in each category of competition. The winner of the 18 in 18 contest will receive a prize of $1,800, and the winning school will receive a prize of $18,000. Stay tuned!
