Hello Cabrini family,
For those that do not know me, I am a junior at Cabrini, Class of 2021. I serve on the Student Council Executive Board as the Parliamentarian. I participate in many activities around school including swimming, basketball, track and field, the Pro-Life Club, No Place for Hate Club, and many more. With all that being said, when I was asked back in November to participate in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Student of the Year Campaign I was so excited to have this opportunity. This campaign will take place for the next few weeks. Please consider donating to my campaign!
Since the early 1960s, five-year survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled. And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are helping patients with other cancers and serious diseases. In fact, drugs first approved for blood cancers are now approved to treat patients with stomach cancers, skin cancers, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis.
Every three minutes someone unwillingly joins the fight of another blood cancer. Among those people unwillingly joining the fight against cancer, there were my loved ones. Over the past four years I've had my mind on making a difference. I thought about many things I could do as a young adult to help our growing rate of tragedy and hopelessness. When I was nominated and heard of the great things LLS is doing, I was honored to represent the organization and their patients. As a candidate I strive to raise money while touching the minds and hearts of the people donating and the people it is helping. I encourage you to donate whatever you can contribute to my efforts.
We really are changing the face of blood cancer!
All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.
Please visit our website often and bring friends who would also like to donate!
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!
