As a result of attending a conservation workshop in SanDiego, Mrs. Ann Smart was able to borrow a kit for her Environmental Science class that teaches about efforts to recover endangered species, specifically the California Condor. After learning about condor recovery efforts, students were able to use radio telemetry devices to "track" stuffed condors that had been hidden around the school yard, banded with radio transmitters. Once all the condors were found, the information was related to local efforts to recover species such as the La. Black Bear and the Whooping Crane.
