September 20, 2023- Student who lives with Type I Diabetes.
- Students who have an immediate family member with Type I Diabetes.
- Applications will be reviewed by the PEF Selection Committee members, and awards will be for partial scholarships that can be used for annual tuition, books, and/or school fees. Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the school by The Catholic Foundation which houses the PEF.
- Applicant will be a full time student in grades K-12th in one of the New Orleans Archdiocesan Catholic Schools
- Only one student per household may apply
- Applicant must show proof of acceptance into the school of choice
- Only US citizens or permanent residents may apply
- Documentation needed:
- School acceptance letter
- School report card
- 2022 Tax forms - Signed
- Endorsement letter from medical professional
- School ID or Picture of Student
If someone in your household is affected by TYPE I diabetes there is a scholarship available to the families of students attending catholic schools within the Archdiocese of New Orleans. The Pazos Education Fund (PEF) was created by Ms. Cynthia Pazos to help students and families affected by diabetes. Ms. Pazos knows that managing diabetes can be costly and can sometimes prevent students from choosing to attend a New Orleans Catholic High School. She created the PEF and this scholarship to assist those families who currently struggle with the financial stress of having to decide between medical and educational needs for their child. Applications will be accepted until November 30, 2023, and applicants will be notified of the awards by February 15, 2024.
