Ms. Sheri Salvagio has been officially named president and CEO of Cabrini High School by the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Cabrini High School’s board of trustees in Deecember 2022. She has served as interim president since June of 2022.
“It is my honor and joy to be entrusted with the sacred responsibility of serving as President and CEO of Cabrini High School,” she said. “I am eager to continue working alongside our longtime Principal Yvonne Hrapmann, dedicated administration, faculty, and staff, and with our students and their families to continue the rich educational and spiritual legacy of St. Frances X. Cabrini,” she added.
Over the last six months under Ms. Salvagio leadership as interim president and CEO, Cabrini High School has:
introduced scholarship opportunities for new students applying to attend Cabrini High School in 8th and 9th grade,
established a three-year strategic plan for maintaining Cabrini’s historic facilities and physical plant,
named a special projects director to explore the possibility of expanding Cabrini’s popular Crescent Cradle (Infant – PK3) nursery school on campus,
initiated a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement between Cabrini High School and NORD to increase parking capacity for the annual Dads’ Club Jazz Fest parking fundraiser, and
increased in-person participation in the Parents Association meetings.
Ms. Salvagio is a New Orleans native with more than two decades of experience in Catholic school education and administration. She holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of New Orleans and a master’s degree in religious education as well as a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Loyola University in New Orleans.
After a ten-year career in corporate sales and sales management, she entered the Catholic school community as a classroom teacher and campus minister. She went on to serve as assistant principal at St. Mary’s Dominican High School, where she worked as dean of students and held various leadership positions including the AdvancED and The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement.
Prior to her interim turned permanent presidency, she ran school advancement and alumnae relations which included managing the annual giving campaign and fundraising, writing grants, advancing the Continuing Her Legacy Capital Campaign, managing scholarships, and partnering with the alumnae to advance the mission of the school.
Ms. Salvagio implemented innovative technology that significantly increased productivity, efficiency and effectiveness in constituent management and communication. With a penchant for data analysis and process improvement, Salvagio appreciates a proactive approach to problem solving while using data to inform and drive decision making.
She also implemented new programs such as the Prayer Ministry, where intentions can be acknowledged and prayed for each day, thus bringing the Cabrini community together through prayer daily.
